XP upgrade problem

I have upgrade from XP home to XP professional several
times and a couple times I have had a problem with
connecting to the internet. The Connect to the internet
via username and password selection in creat new
connection is shaded grey. Is there a patch or script i
can run to fix it

Please make sure that the "Remote Access Connection Manager" service is
running. Go to start ->Run ->Services.msc and start this service if it is
not already running.Please refer to KB article 329441 if you face problems
starting the service.
