My PC crashed after updating the latest security patch
from MS this past Saturday. I can't even get into safe
mode. Since I purchase the upgrade version, I had to
reformated the HD and reinstalled Win98 than XP. Very
time consuming. Anyway, I was in the process of converting
from FAT32 to NTFS, it just stop after I get the screen
where it tell you the amount of space needed to convert.
Now, I can't even get into XP..anyone has any idea what I
did wrong? Pls advise. Thanks...KT

Why did you load windows 98 first? You don't have to load
98 and then XP. XP will load on it's on but it will ask
for a 98 disk just to verify you have a valid license from
a previous operating system. I don't know what happened
to cause the error. Take your XP setup disk and boot from
it. (Go into CMOS and set your boot options to boot from
CD first) Start the install routine for XP and format the
drive for NTFS before installing. As you found out,
sometimes that conversion from Fat32 to NTFS doesn't
always work right. Good luck.
