XP 'Studders'

OK, here's one for the books. I've got a nice HP dc7600, with dual
processors, and one gig of ram. Nice SATA drive and it studders. Here's the
sutuation: It appears as if I have an inturrupt conflice. The computer will
freeze for about one tenth second. The most apparent symton is audio. It
makes all audio 'gurgle'. I have already checked it with two good virus
programs, checked it with two good spyware programs. I reloaded XP from the
disk which removed all updates, then installed updates. This computer did
not do this when new. I changed the drive and loaded 2003R2 and no problem.
I hate using 2003 at home. It's like using an 18-wheeler to drive to the
grocery store. I tried changing inturrupts and xp will show them to me, but
won't let me change them. I am raising the white flag. What am I doing
wrong.

About a week ago. It's one of the first things I did. I am used to doing
something like that on a regular basis, learned from work. Thanks for that
suggestion Jerry.

What version of Media Player are you using ?

Version 11 is the latest one.

Jerr;
Media Player help shows that I am running version 11.0.5721.5145.
I was hoping when I upgraded to ver 11 that would solve the problem.
It didn't.
Thanks.
Dave...
