Ben

Hi,

I had my auto update set to, "Notify me but don't
automatically download or install updates". The balloon
came up in the bottom right, and i clicked on download.
The download did not seem to happen, and after leaving my
PC on the whole 2 days, it has not come. I have a 512kbps
connection so I guess if it is going to come it would
have come now. Is there any way I can instigate a
download??

Thanks

Ben

Have you tried clicking on the Windows Update link on your start menu? Or
go to www.windowsupdate.com. Let it scan your system and then install all
available cricital updates. You may want to also download any driver
updates that are available as well.

Thanks for that, but I have tried and I am redirected to
the page that asks me to swich on Autoupdate, which is
on!

For your faster download capabilities, I cannot say; but
with my dial-up connection (not constantly online) I have
a folder in C:\Windows named SoftwareDistribution that
was created on 8/10/2004. The contents have been
increasing gradually. It is now up to 25 files, 8
folders, Size 3.15 MB, Size on disc 3.18 MB. I'm just
furnishing this as insight to what is going on with some
of us. You might want to look for a folder, as described
above.

Hi..

Read my post next to yours. We are both having the same
problem. You will just have to be patient and wait. I
hear this might be done by the 25th, but that is just one
person's opinion.

I hear you can get SP2 from some websites, but I am more
comfortabe waiting for Windows Updates to do it for me.

Everyone in the world in trying to get SP2, so the
traffic must be pretty heavy!

Please learn how to use a newsgroup. This is not an online chat. Usenet
servers deliver posts in different orders and nobody knows what you're
talking about if you don't reply in thread.
