Does anyone have any experience with the new SP?

I've installed it on two machines with no problems. I was going to use
Windows Firewall in favour of NPF but changed my mind and am sticking with
NPF. The popup blocker is good. The extra security added to OE6 that stops
you from downloading pics in HTML posts is a bit annoying but I've gotten
used to it, and it can be turned off if you get too fed up with it. The
added security in IE6 which alerts you to downloading files is another
annoyance which I have got used too but again can be turned off. I don't
like the way the boot up screen just says "Windows XP" heck I want ppl to
see I've got the Pro version LOL!! What else oh yeah the security centre is
a good idea even though I've turned off most of its features! All in all I
like it, it didn't wreck any of my systems and it does have some good
security features. So yeah my experience has been a good one. Roll on SP3!!

Ahh that will be the version with the inbuilt firewall that actually
pinpoints where the hacker is operating from, sends an inverse tetryon beam
down the telephone line which blows his PC to bits right before his very
eyes. Brilliant, where do I get one??

It's great, although when I try to run the sfc /scannow from the run box
windows wants the original XP Pro disk after the first fifth of the scan and
ends up messing up for some reason trying to scan the files. Although I may
have messed up the system reserved area when creating an extra partition and
trying to move the swap file around.

Tons of people do! Just look through the microsoft.public xp newsgroups.
One source suggests that just over 50 percent experienced problems of
which 7 per cent have trashed systems (http://isc.sans.org/xpsp2.php) .

Personally, I'm not prepared to risk a perfectly good system for
security improvements that are already better carried by third party
programs & devices. I'll wait for SP2.1 :)
