I know this is not the best place to place this question but I am not
currently able to access the Whidbey newsgroups for reason I am unable to
identify at present. Just thought someone here might know.

Are there any known problems with Windows XP Pro SP2 and VS beta? I am
getting ready to install the SP2 but really can't afford to have it blow up
my machine right now.

No problems experienced here with that setup, but it is not advisable to
have the beta product on a production machine.

I installed WinXP Pro SP2 on a second partion (Dual boot) and then installed
VS2005 beta there.

Personally, I believe that if you can't afford to "blow up" your machine
right now (i.e. it is a development machine that you use for routine
development), I would suggest not installing any beta software. Not that
there is anything wrong with VS2005, just it is a little risky.

At a recent .NET 2005 Beta event from MSDN, they suggested installing the
Beta on a "Virtual PC", or a completely different PC than what you would use
for routine development. Just for safety.
