4) Find "Security" at the bottom of the listed setings and put the check in the boxes for-

Darren:

I am having excatly the same problem regarding Java script error after
downloading SP-2.
I tried the solution suggested by you about changing the advances security
settings below and it did not work.

On the status bar it shows the following message appears
" javascript: open window (the website link address) after you tried to
click the link to open it.

I have rebooted my PC after changing the settings as suggested below and it
still did not work. Is there any registry settings you had to possibly modify
or any other solution to this problem.

Its very frustrating when you cannot open most of the links on websites due
to this problem.

Hope ur boss Mr. Gates can finally try to eleminate all problems with this
sick dinosour known as " WINDOWS XP", or maybe he suggested his development
team to put this errors deliberately so that end users can pay microsoft
techies by the hour for personalized phone support.

I too could not access any links on a webpage, even microsoft.com after
installing SP2 on XP Home. I uninstalled and still had problems and could
not run a system recovery from 5 different dates. I had spybot and removed
some spyware and also deleted all histoy, offline webpages and deleted
cookies. Have not been able to run regclean, it hangs for over 45 minutes so
I give up, but maybe it's taking that long to clean up. Anyway, finally,
this morning I was able to access links on webpages I could not access
before. Not sure what did it but am certainly delaying this update.

Probably a cut-off web page got stuck in the cache. You could
have deleted the temporary Internet files, and that might have
cured it.

This cures itself after a certain time when the browser
downloads a fresh copy of the page.

Just use http://www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm to diagnose and cure
such problems.
