Hi,

We've deployed an SP2 upgrade to several of our machines. However,
after the upgrade the user's lose the ability to browse the network
when attempting to map a network drive (My Computer -> Tools -> Map
Network Drive).

Has anyone seen this behaviour before or know what may have caused it?
Workaround/fix?

Thanks,
Ahmed

WINS/DDNS working properly?
Computer Browsing still turned on as a service?
Is it actually necessary for you/your customers to be able to browse for
other computers in that way?

Hi Shenan,

Thanks for your reply.

WINS/DDNS working properly?
WINS/DDNS is working properly as far as we can tell.

We've disabled this service. However, certain machines with the service
disabled seem to be able to browse fine.

Yes, as the "browse" button in 'Map Network Drive" does not appear
which would require all our users to remember UNC paths to their shared
folders.

This is good.

Kinda need that.

Why are they mapping drives themselves anyway?
Shouldn't they have logon scripts or at least scripts to map what they
need/have access to by their system administrator?
