xp sp2 downloading files problem.

I one time tried to download a .zip file and i was asked whether i wanted to open the file directly or save it on my disk
there was an option not to be asked that question again for that kind of file. And that's where the problem began. Now i cannot download a zip file, it only open it. Does anyone know how i can restore it to the previous value?
 
XP SP2 is zipped ? Oh well,the choice is from whom youre downloadin
from,either thier zipped or not zipped,the selection isnt up to you.Howeve
if zipped,R.click the file,select extract,the file or folder is unzipped and read
to use.

That is *NOT* a Windows XP SP2 issue.
That is *NOT* even a Windows XP issue.
That *IS* a end-user issue.

You checked the box, you told it not to ask - it has been like that since
Windows 95.
Here is what you need to do to restore the question.

Open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) - you may also just open "My
Computer".
From the top menu choices, choose Tools -> Folder Options.
Select the "File Types" tab.
Scroll down the list until you find "ZIP" (Likely at the bottom, considering
the letter..)
Select it by clicking on it once.
Click the "Advanced" button.
Find the checkbox for "Confirm open after download" and make sure it is
CHECKED.
OK your way out of this situation back to just Windows Explorer/My Computer.

you dont understand
i have winxp sp2 and they have that option for asking you for each file type. i have checked the option not to be asked again for the .zip and .rar files and now it never askes me to download the file or not. it immediatly tries to open it
and i am forced to wait for it to open and then extract the files somewhere on the disc and zip them again. it is kind annoying as you can imagine. i want to save the ****ing files IMMEDIATELY.
