XP slow logon to Win2k domain

I have windows XP Pro clients configured to connect to a
Dell server running Win2k Server and set up as a master
domain controller. These users logon to the domain and
are in a containter (group) set up for accounting. Logon
can take up to 15 minutes, then everything seems to run
ok but I feel slowly given a 2 processor Xeon server w/
2GB RAM gigabit switch and 100Mbit NICs in clients.
Please help.

It's probably looking for an IP address so it might be resolved by setting
static IP for that system. Nonetheless, you might want to post this on the
