I usually shutdown my XP Home system by selecting Hibernate. All works
well.
Then I use the PC power button to re"boot" the system. All works well.
However after booting the PC, if I don't touch anything for several minutes,
the PC then invokes the Hibernate function itself and shutdown and turns
off. If I use the PC as usual (launching programs, etc.) then the automatic
shutdown never occurs no matter how long I wait or the system is idle.
The auto shutdown to Hibernate happens ONLY after just powering the PC back
up and ONLY if I don't touch anything for a few minutes. Use the PC at all
and it'll never happen.
I frequently power up the PC when I get home and then walk away, only to
come back later and find my PC has turned itself back off.
Any idea why? And how to stop it from doing that?
Thanks,
Bruce.
