xp shut down

Hello
xp pentium 4 576mb ram, cd-rewriter and dvd rewriter, the
dvd was previously installed. Randomly when using
computer it will shut down. Could the possiblity that the
two drivers are in conflict. Both are compatible for xp.
Message comes up from microsoft that serious error has
occured device drivers that is all that is said.

Check the MS support site for XP and search on the XP
drivers. There is a bulletin there that discusses driver
conflict, XP shutting down and how to resolve. hope that
helps.
