I have recently installed Windows XP OES version to replace Windows ME.
Since then I am having nothing but problems with my computer -- some I have
been able to correct, some not.
Can anyone tell me what I did that my Games folder is now empty? How can I
recover this without re-installing everything?

Why can't I perform large downloads such as Adobe Reader?

I am in the dark -- thanks for your assistance!

If you installed XP on top of ME, you should undo this. Re-Install XP
parallel to ME and then reinstall your applications from Windows XP.
Whwen you are done and all is working well, you can manually remove
Windows ME.

Don't know if I'm in the right area but, Norton came pre-installed on my
computer.
When it expired. I deleted it from add/remove programs. Then I downloading
McAfee virus scan. Now it says I have 2 virus scans and it won't let me use
McAfee while Norton is still there, but the progrlem is Norton is removed
from add/remove programs. Very confusing. Any solutions! Also,
I don't know if I'm in the right area. I hope someone can
help me. I'm trying to download Bearshare. I get the error message:
could not execute the external program - windows cannot find:
c:\docume~1\stella\locals~1\temp\vvsninst.exe Does anyone know what
this means? I called HP and they said to call Bearshare and Bearshare
said to call HP. Thanks!
Any solutions!

First: This is a separate thread and you should send a new separate msg for
help on this subject.

In any case, Symantec put files all over your computer and most of them have
to be removed manually after going through add/remove.

The best way is to do a search using Windows Explorer and then deleting them
one by one. Also be sure to remove the live update directory and the live
registration directories.

Then comes the hard part. You need to clean the registry. There are several
free registry programs and some that are in free trial. Google them and run
them. Be sure to make registry backups before running these programs. After
that I defrag the disk to make sure. Then I can go on with my life. After a
few instances of Symantec poisoning I have found other programs that are
smaller, faster and better. They are also cheaper.

I no longer use any Symantec products.

Good luck and regards,
