Long story, will try to make short! XP setup progresses
thru format of c: partition. Begins copying files. Gives
message "file spoolsv.exe was not copied correctly" & 3
options. 1-retry (if you continue to rcv this msg,
contact your XP supplier or sys admin) 2-skip 3-quit
setup. I hit retry over and over until setup continues
with file copy. I get the error over and over with each
file setup attempts to copy. After about 10 or 12 of the
file not copy messages...the dreaded BSOD appears.
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
***STOP:0x0000001A
(0x00000781,oxc035D76C,0x00000000,0xE17B0C6C)

FYI...The is no operating system on C: I am trying to
reinstall XP so I can retrieve my data on the D: partition.

Thanks in advance!!

Installation failures of Microsoft operating systems usually are because
of faulty hardware. Time to do a RAM test and then a hard drive
diagnosis.
