I'm running XP Professional and after installing Service Pack 2 I
cannot get any popups. I've disabled the popup blocker, disabled
all addins, turned off MS firewall. It makes no difference when I put
the URL in allowed area.

I had to use Mozilla to post this question.

Thanks for the help

Hi :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Application Compatibility Testing and Mitigation Guide for Windows XP
Service Pack 2 (SP2)

Mitigating Application Compatibility

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/deploy/appcom/apcmitig.mspx

IE Popup Manager

http://msdn.microsoft.com/security/productinfo/XPSP2/securebrowsing/popupmanager.aspx

also....

When you go to a site that has popups you should see a bar at the top of the
browser window that says that popups have been blocked. If you click on that
bar you should see options, one of which is always to allow popups on that
site. If you choose that option, and then refresh the page, then popups
should work on that site.

and...

Go to Tools>Internet Options>Privacy tab to view the privacy settings for
the web browser.
At the bottom of the window is an option labeled Pop-up Blocker. If it is
selected (checked), try de-selecting (unchecking) it.
Click on Apply
Then OK to save the change in settings.

also...

Try enabling the scripts in IE by following the steps given below:

1.Open IE and click Tools and select Internet Options.
2.Click Security and click Custom level.
3.Scroll down the tab and enable all the options under "ActiveX control
and plug-ins".
4.Also enable the options under "Java VM" in the scroll list.
5.Click Ok.

If you have any other toolbars, check to see that they are not blocking
popups. Some firewalls and Anti-Virus programs can also block some types of
popups.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
please post back to this thread with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
