Steve

I've left the Win98se/Gateway era and now have an
XP/Dell. It came loaded with corporate hacking software.
Added to this you have to lower the security in order to
update, etc.

My question; where in XP does Microsoft hide all of the
stuff that's gathered. Also, how do you get rid of it.
I've deleted some, but it never shows up in the Recycle
bin and I assume then that its been hidden somewhere else.

I thought about wiping the disk and starting over, but I
think that I would just reload the stuff again since the
Microsoft OEM virus deletes all customer ownership.

It also came with Earthlink installed and I found to set
up 'security' in their system it requires me to reduce
security on my machine.

Also found to use any 'help' or search such as Google I
had to reduce security on my machine.

All in all it seems that XP is a security disaster to the
customer. What are you guys with the XP smarts doing to
combat these schemes.

Thanks

Steve

Windows XP does not come "loaded with corporate hacking software".
Microsoft is not responsible for any third-party programs preinstalled
by a computer manufacturer, such as Dell. If you reformat your drive
and reinstall Windows XP using the Dell Reinstallation CD, you'll find
that the added Dell software is not installed.

Steve;
What is "corporate hacking software"?
Since Dell put whatever it is on the computer, contact Dell for
details.
Windows XP is the operating system, nothing more.
Whatever else Dell installed has nothing to do with Dell so you are
better off contacting the application manufacturer or Dell.

Perhaps #5, #6 & #10 on this link can help:

With respect, your post is too full of ranting and too empty of actual
detailed facts of what exactly the problems are that you are having to be
answered in a meaningful manner.

Remember, whatever "corporate hacking tools" you've decided are installed on
your machine were not put there by anyone in this newsgroup, and hence we
can't actually see whats on your screen to know what you are talking about.
