XP runs slow

I am having trouble . Search does not respond and my
computer is running slow. Checked for "sasser" but Mcafee
does not show it.

Here are the standard fixes:
1. Clear your browser cache
2. Defrag
3. If you've installed new drivers/software for any hardware lately, roll
them back to previous versions, or uninstall/reinstall the hardware
(particularly video cards and mice).
4. Probably the safest: restore your system to an earlier state.
