A friend of mine has a laptop running XP and Office 2003. She has 2 hardware
profiles, one for her home network that enables her network card but
disables her modem and one profile that enables her modem but disables her
network card. This all works fine. She prints to a network printer at home
(shared on her 98SE machine).
If she boots into the "on the road" (no nic) profile and tries to open
Outlook 2003 it throws up a bunch of errors from hpzndp07.dll (or something
close) which is for her HP Photoready printer. If she deletes the printer,
the error messages go away.
Is there a way to create a profile that will allow her to have a printer
when she's connected to the network but disable it (so the drivers don't
load) when she boots to her "on the road" profile? Right now she deletes the
printer then readds it once she attaches to her network.
