I have had XP home edition installed on my computer for
over a year, I always update regularly with windows
updates and have had Norton 2003 installed for the
previous year, I have no viruses and windows is up to
date with all critical updates, windows XP updates and
all windows drivers for my system.
Within the last week my computer has suddenly started
shutting down, with no warning, on reboot it says it has
recovered from a serious error and this has been caused
by a device driver. The only programme I had changed was
to install Norton 2004.
This became so bad that in desperation I formatted my
hard drive, and started from scratch, now two days later
with the same programs installed except back to Norton
2003 I have the same problems, except winders explorer is
now restarting intermittantly as well.
This seems to be related to a recent update from the
windows update page, could this be the case, I am just
about to reformat AGAIN and cannot afford the time and
effort to be back at this point!!!!
Please if anyone has the same problems or an answer to
this problem, let me know.
Thanks
