Hi there,
I am really frustrated with my winXp Pro just installed. I
asked two questions before regarding it but didn't get any
proper solution. After installing XP, it was running fine
for 2 hrs. Then when I again start the pc it loads the
Black winXP screen and then restarts repeatedly without
mentioning any error found. Even I can't stat Xp in safe
mode, in safe mode it also restarts repeatedly just after
winXP Logo. I checked power supply with another hdd
running win98Se, its fine. I am totally blank what could
be the problem. If it's regarding display, then how could
I solve it since I can't enter into desktop even in safe
mode. Pls Help me.

Are you using AMD Athlon?
The problem is not with the Display or Display Driver but with the
motherboard.
I was having same problem with Asus Nvidia chipset motherboard. (A7N266VM).
Absolutely no problem if I install Windows XP pro without service pack.
but as soon as I install service pack 1, either machine reboots frequently
or if it starts then CPU Utilization goes to 100%, so you can not click any
thing.

No, I am using Intel P4 1.8GHz with Gigabyte 8IHXP Mobo.
How can I enter into desktop to change display settings or
how can I know the error code?

I have the same problem, except I haven't even gotten XP
fully installed. If it doesn't hang on the black Windows
XP screen, it goes to the Disk-Checking function and tells
me the drive needs to be checked for errors.

If I bypass the Disk Checking the pc freezes with a blank
screen or reboots. If I allow the disk to be checked, it
says the hiberfil.sys isn't the proper size, but
afterwords, it completes and goes back into XP Setup,
where it freezes. Its been freezing with 39 minutes to go
on "Installing Windows XP"

Now I have another hdd in and I'm formating it to see if
it will work.

Don't know exactly, but certain services, if for some reason they
stop, by default instruct the operating system to restart. Check it
and if needed unflag this option.
