| If this is a company computer is it possible that they restricted access
to
| this area. If your company also uses Active Directory, this is another
| possibility and the fact that those with 'Admin' privileges can change the
| settings. It is obvious that you are not considered as an 'Admin' on your
| own computer, but just a lonely ole' user without privileges. Again,
| assuming a company computer, check with your Network administrators for
the
| privileges bestowed upon you.

Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 provides the administrator of a computer more
latitude in restricting the user's access to various features in the
program. Each of the following values are of type DWORD and to turn on the
value, you set it to the number 1. To turn off the value, you set it to the
number zero (0). After setting the values for these Registry values you
must restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
The following Restriction Values reside in either of the following Registry
keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Restrictions
- or -
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions
- NoFileOpen: Disables "File Open" menu.
- NoFileNew: Disables "File New" menu.
- NoBrowserSaveAs: Disables "Save As" in the "File" menu.
- NoBrowserOptions: Disables "Internet Options" menu from the "Tools"
menu.
