XP reinstall/activation

Hello,

I am currently upgrading my laptop's hardrive. During
this process, I will have to reinstall XP Pro (as well as
Office XP) onto the new drive. I foresee that both XP and
OXP will again ask for activation. Since I am using the
same serial numbers, it will say these numbers are already
in use and/or have already been activated. How do I
legitmately move my XP/OXP to my new drive?

Simply install Windows XP normally and if Product Activation
is not successful via the internet, then simply choose the alternative
option to "activate by phone" to obtain a new (and free) activation code.

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. Nor is there ever a
charge. If it's been more than 120 days since you last activated
that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to activate via
the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you might have to
make a 5 minute phone call.
