Hi experts.
Running XPHome SP2, in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM I have
ControlSet001,002,003 and 004 as well as CurrentControlSet.

My question is why have I got these 4 entries, (001,002,003 & 004 ) and can
I delete them?

I would not delete them.

What are Control Sets? What is CurrentControlSet?

How often did you start Windows selecting the "Last Known Good"
Configuration?
and can I delete them?

All ControlSet### not being referred in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Select
can be safely deleted. See also:

Thanks for the links.
I think I understand the info and I think I will leave well alone as the PC
seems to have links to ControlSets 002,003 & 004.

In this case, ControlSet001 can be deleted, however, there is no
real benefit.
