xp reboots when internet explorer starts

My laptop reboots every once in a while when I start
internet explorer. I have scanned for any trojans or
viruses and my computer is clean. I have also tried to
repair Windows with my original cd. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming that your av is current and the definitions are updated. In
that case, look in Event Viewer for clues (Control Panel>Administrative
Tools>Event Viewer. It would also be good for you to scan for spyware
and other types of malware with Spybot Search & Destroy and/or
Ad-aware, since some malware can cause Internet connectivity problems.
