I have just activated my XP Home Edition via the phone and
installed an application that has never had any problems
on any other XP boxes. Now, when I select 'Start' > 'Shut
Down' and the PC shuts down only to reboot automatically
about 10 minutes later without any input from me at all.
Any ideas out there as to what is happening???

Hello,

I don't know if this will fix it,but check your Bios under
power management and check if you have any timers enabled!
