Is there a limit to the number of times Windows XP (retail license) can be
re-activated on the same computer within the 120 day period (assuming no
major hardware configuration changes are made) ??

Not on a retail version on the same computer that I know of. Unless someone
out there has had some other experience.

Greetings --

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. Nor is there ever a
charge. If it's been more than 120 days since you last activated
that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to activate via
the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you might have to
make a 5 minute phone call.

Here are the facts pertaining to activation:

No limit with retail or OEM.
Moving retail Windows XP to another computer and even reinstallation
on same computer may necessitate phone activation to Microsoft
(normally toll free 5 minute call)

Normally OEM can not be moved to another computer.
