XP query

Hi

As a non techy can someone help me. I want to down load
a Microsoft patch and there is an option of XP 32 bit
edition or 64 bit edition. How do I know which I am
running?!

From a command prompt type "systeminfo" - without the quotes. Look for 'System type:' - X86 = 32-bit.

What directory do you need to be in to do this? I have
tried it at the C prompt and also at C:\windows.
