Hello. Does XP Professional allow sharing a fax modem within a home network? I currently have XP Home edition running on my desktop and laptop. I would like to have the ability to share the desktop's fax modem with both computers, but it doesn't look like XP Home allows it. Any assistance would be appreciated.

The ability to share a modem is a function of a server-level OS only,
therefore, neither Home nor Pro supports it.
 
No version of Windows XP supports fax modem sharing. That is now a feature
of Server only products like the Windows 2003 Server family.

For a two PC setup, it's probably out of your price range, but should you
decide to expand in the future:

It's a great product! I highly recommend it. But then I have six PCs here
and run my own webserver!
