I am an American living in Brazil. I recently purcahsed a computer here with
XP Professional (Brazilian) installed. I have a opportunity to purchase XP
Professional in English.

My question is, "Can I install the English version over the Brazilian
version?"

No, a "clean install" is required of the English version of XP Pro.

Carey,

Thank you for your reply. I thought that was the case. I will probably
just stick with the Brazilian version. I do have another question though:

It is my intention to upgrade to the new Vista platform when it is
available. If I get the Windows XP Professional in Português, will I run
into the same problem if I upgrade with the Vista platform in English?

Thanx!

Regards,

Rory

It is too early in the development stage of Vista to be able to
determine just how the different languages will be handled in the
released version.
