I'm sorry I couldn't finish my message, and say "please",
and "thanks, before sending it. I probably touch by
accident the "send" button.
I already tried to use System Restore with the computer
in Safe Mode. I tried 14 system points already. To no
avail all the time.
Help is very much appreciated.

I'm afraid system restore is not quite as reliable as one would think. It
often becomes corrupt. About the only thing you can do is clear all restore
points and let them re-populate. To clear SR, go to the SR page and on the
left side of the window, click on "system restore settings", turn off SR for
all drives and re-boot. That will remove all restore points. Go back to SR
and turn it back on for your OS partition only. I would suggest that you go
to "Settings" for that drive and move the slider to allow around 500 Mb's
for restore points. The default 12% is a bit more than you need. If you had
a problem you was trying to solve by using SR, it will have to be taken care
of otherwise. Please post back to this thread and someone will help you with
a solution to whatever the problem is.

It is also worth adding for the benefit of Iris that System Restore is not a
substitute for backing up data files. It is collects certain system data
mainly from the registry.

Hi Gerry,

No argument there. It only "hopes" to backup critical system files. I wish
it was more dependable.

Ha... i already try on a few PCs also having this
nonsense restore point failure... search on the knowledge
base, they says the cause is due to improper shutdown...
