I'm trying to recover my data where I am locked out of my
account. I have done a restore to a prior date, which
results in showing my account again. However, when I
reach that point, I have no mouse or keyboard and have to
reset. Then once again, I either have no account or when
I try to logon, the password is invalid. All I want to
do is recover my data and reformat the drive. My
directory is still there, and I think my data is still
there, but of course I can't see the files. Is there any
way to override the security, to be able to recover my
data files? Thanks.

The bottom line... you can't logon if you don't have the
account password. There are other ways to get around it
like possibly doing a logon with an Domain Admin account
if you have physical access to a domain and the computer
has an account on that domain. You can also attempt to
use the XP recover counsel - look on technet or in
WindowsXP help for more on that. Also, you can reinstall
XP to a different directory like "windows2" or anything
different from the original install - then boot up to the
new install and access the data from that install - be
sure to not format the drive on the install.
