XP Prof install issue

After upgrading from 98se to XP Profesional all my files
are set up under documents & settings then "unknown user"
even tho I put my name "RC" in as administrator account to
begin install. It will not allow me to change this folder
name. How can I change this folder from "unknown user"
to "RC"?
 
If I were you, I would turn your computer on and off
several times within a few seconds. Then, give it a swift
kick on the left side, not the right. Now chant "Windows
rocks, windows rocks" and your problem is solved!

Log on as "unknown user". Create a new user "RC" and give "RC"
administrative rights. Now while still logged on as "unknown user",
copy everything from "unknown user" to "RC". Log off as "unknown
user" and log back on as "RC". Make sure everything is there and
working OK. If OK, log off and boot to SAFE MODE and log in as
"administrator". Delete the "unknown user" account. Reboot and log
on as "RC".
