I purchased xp pro over the internet and it came WITHOUT
Product ID Code and can not contact the seller. What can
I do from here that i have what looks like a legal cd but
came WITHOUT the Prod ID code. MS will not let you
email them without Prod ID Code. Can MicroSoft
examine the CD to determine if it has been registered?

Hi

If you mean the Product Key, then the only recourse you have is with the
seller, who in this case has disappeared. MS won't be able to have a look
at the CD before it is installed. What kind of CD is it - OEM, Retail? I'm
afraid it looks as though you will have to purchase another copy of XP,
making sure that the PK is included - sorry.

Sorry, your only recourse is with the seller.
Next time deal only with a reputable seller.
If you used a credit card, contact your credit
card issuer and complain to them.

The Product ID is pretty much what you're buying, the disks are identical
for each type of product. If you didn't get the product ID from the seller,
you didn't get what you paid for.

If you bought it from e-bay, contact them.

Otherwise, just figure that you've been scammed.
