I justed installed a WIFI router to my desktop running XP PRO. I am
purchasing a laptop and will have XP Home. Can the 2 be networked? Any
possible problems?
Thanks
Les

XP home can be a bit tricky....it does not support domains only workgroups.
and there must be a matching user profile on each computer. In other words,
you should have the same user accounts on both machines. If not you probably
won't connect. and be sure to enable netbios in the TCP/ip setup

H'mm typical computer geek!
You bring up a good point because I'm Running a VPN to my work computer(a
laptop) and can't set-up to get to my Desktop that I wish to do. My ISP guy
said I need a laptop at home for my wife and set it up??? at work.and he
mentioned your reasoning!
