Hello

I need some help from an expert. I have reloaded my system with XP Pro. I
was using Nortons firewall and antivirus but thought it was using too much
resources and making the system run slow.

During the reload, I setup Microsoft Firewall that came with XP Pro. I also
setup Internet Connection Sharing.

Problem. When the Firewall is activate, my other pc utilizing the shared
internet connection no longer has access to the internet. It can ping and
instant message but that's it.

I know the firewall software is blocking the internal network from reaching
the internet but I don't know how to allow the access.

Do I need to setup some rules in the firewall. If so, what ports do I need
to allow.

The firewall logging is not showing any denied access for the internal
network on 192.168.*.

Any help would be appreciated.

Enable the XP Firewall on the host computer's Internet connection.
Disable the XP Firewall on the host computer's local area network
connection. There should be no need for setting up rules and ports.

Make sure that Norton is completely un-installed. If in doubt,
re-install it and then un-install it.
