XP Pro will not load after Blaster virus

I have recently encountered the Blaster virus and tried to reinstall Windows XP Pro and now my system is locked half way through the installation and won't proceed any further and continually reboots to the same position.
How do I stop the installation and get my computer back to normal? I can't even get back to System Restore. Kim
 
This is the point where you congratulate yourself for having failthfully
backed up all of your data. Boot from your
Windows XP CD, format the hard drive and do a fresh installation of Windows.
Then restore your data from your backup.
