I install a second hard drive that had xp pro on it into a machine with xp
pro to use as a storage drive. I deleted and reformated the old "C" drive
which showed up as my "E" drive in the new system and rebooted, upon reboot
scandisk kept insisting on running, I kept canceling it and the drive was
find. I let scandisk run once since I was getting upset by it showing up all
the time and I lost half of my files to it by it doing "recovering lost file"
fix. When I rebooted a second time, scandisk still wanted to run, so I let it
(idiot) and then I lost my "E" drive (my old "c" drive) I couldnt recover it,
and along the way my other 2 partitions disappeared. This is a maxtor 200GB
hard drive. At the most, I can only get xp pro to recognize only 121 GB of
it. I did every trick in the book, cannot find this in the knowledge base or
ms.com I appreciate any help from anyone. Thanks -AL-

XP should only recognize 137 gb with the limitation, try going to run, type:
diskmgmt.msc In msc,R.click on the unallocated space,create a partition.
