Why is it not a good idea to use the administrator
account everyday?? If i create another one, how do i
transfer over all my desk top and stuff over? How do i
make it for limited or daily use? Is there such a choice?
I'm using Xp Pro. Is that why when i log on i only see
the second account i have created for some else. Does
this confirm i was using the administrator account
everyday? Also where do you go to put restrictions on the
newly created account for say a child? Please help.

The reason not to use the Administrator account on a daily basis, is if its
your only Admin level account, and it becomes corrupt for some reason, you
would not have any Admin access to the computer. You're better off
creating another Admin level user and using that account. To copy your
current documents and other files:

Open System in Control Panel. On the User Profiles tab, and under Profiles
stored on this computer, click the user profile you want to copy, and then
click Copy To.

In the Copy To dialog box, under Copy profile to, type the location for the
new profile, or click Browse to select the path.
Click Change to open the Choose User dialog box, click a new user from the
Names list, and then click Add. The new user name will appear in Add Name.
Click OK to add the user as a new user profile on your computer.

Note: You must be logged on as an administrator to the local computer to
copy user profiles. To open a Control Panel item, click Start, point to
Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click the appropriate icon.
Additionally, you can't be logged in on the account you're copying from or
to.

How to Copy User Data to a New User Profile

For restrictions, you can use various tweaking programs to lock down aspects
of the system. You can also use the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) in XP
Pro. Note: GPEDIT applies the policies to all users, unless you're in a
Domain environment.
