I currently have Windows XP Home OEM Installed on my computer with all
updates.
If I upgrade to XP Pro using the original release (pre SP1) will I need to
reinstall SP1 and all other updates for SP2 ?
TIA
Dave

One cannot upgrade Windows XP Home w/SP1 with a
non-SP1 Windows XP Pro CD.

Yes. Be sure that there are facilities in Pro only which you really
need. Apart from those the systems are identical. Don't do it just
because it sounds macho

OK, I'm now running XP Pro.
Carey, Thanks for the link to integrate SP1 withXP Pro,it worked perfectly.
Alex, I'm not trying to be macho,my old computer died not long ago and I
need IIS and rely on ms backup & the security for my business.
Carey & Alex, I only had to download 15MB of critical updates after the
install, but one update KB828026 Downloads & installs but when I go back to
windows update website it says that I still need this update.
I have downloaded & installed 3 times and even rebooted once when it says I
dont need to.
Any suggestions?
TIA
Dave
