My XP PRO system running on an (1800+, with 512ddr 2700) takes nearly 7 minutes to shutdown, and sometimes even longer. It is pathetic and I have begun to to the unthinkable of turning the powerbar off...... To get the job done. Is this a problem that is widespread? Common? Before posting this, I most of the previous postings with the same problem, but my computer still won't budge. Please help me if you can. I suspect that it is a software issue, rather than hardware, since when I start XP PRO into "safe mode", when the minimal drivers and options are loaded, it will shutdown quickly... As it should. Please help me.
