I am imaging 350+ Optiplex GX260s using sysprep w/ mini-
setup and Ghost to push the image. The imaging works fine
until the portion of Sysprep's mini-setup where it
attempts to join the domain. At that point it cannot
contact the domain. I'm not sure if the driver isn't
loading or if there is a conflict between XP and the NIC.
The NIC is the new Intel Pro/1000 onboard card. I've tried
all of the available drivers with no success. If I add a
PCI Nic(3COM) it works fine but this isn't an option for
all 350.

Does anyone know a solution for this or a workaround for
this problem. Also, Is there anyway with sysprep to change
the timeout setting for installing drivers or joining the
domain?

Thank You!!
Kirsten

Are you specifying the device in Sysprep.inf or are you adding the drivers
to a defined PNP directory?

Kristen,

Windows XP does not know about the new Intel PRO/1000
NIC. You will need to specify this new driver using the
OemPnPDriversPath= within your sysprep.inf file.

Another thing to try is, when sysprep is at the screen to
add the computer to the domain, press Shift+F10 to open a
command prompt. Type IPCONFIG to see if you have an ip
address assigned.
