Set up originally as requested to my own username as the administrator. I
am the only user. All was fine. Updated various security issues at one
time. System started to display a user screen, suggesting I needed a
password. I don't recall if I then had to choose between my own username an
another named "Administrator". I ran "control userpasswords2" from run
command and de-selected "Require a Password". All went well until yet
another set of updates. Now I get no selection screen, but the system
boots every time into "Administrator", rather than my username, which is
also designated as having administrator privileges. I cannot access my
Outlook Express saved mail, contacts, preferences, etc., until I switch
users from the Start menu. I need to be able to either force boot-up into
my username as default, or force all of "Administrator"'s preferences and
databases to somehow shortcut to those posted under my own username. If I
could, I might rename everything with my username as 'Administrator" and
change the original Administrator to Adminold, but I don't know how deep
into the registry I would need to go. That seems too risky. I have
found no simple box to check or field to designate the default user.
Several smart people, please help. Give me a few good ideas or one real
solution. Thanks!
