I have had three pc's connected via a router for the past 2.5 years. One pc
was on it's last leg so we bought a Dell pc winXP Pro sp2, so that all were
alike! The main pc that shares files was moved to the station where the pc
was old. The new pc went to the station where the main pc was. Now the
problem that I am ecperiencing is: the pc that never was touched and the new
pc communicate fine, however whenever we try to open files and folders from
these two pc's the opening is very slow. I checked the event viewer for any
errors or warning and found the anouncement of two master browsers the main
and the new pc's. So I went into the registry and set the mainserverlist to
yes on the main and no on the new Dell. the result is the same however the
errors have gone away. The connection speed to the main pc is very slow and
from the main pc to the two other pc's is very slow. The connection speed
from the two pc are just fine. Any help!

JB,

Please start by providing "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" for all 3
computers.

Did you restart each computer, after changing the MaintainServerList entry?
