Hello, Im building my first PC and Im going to install Windows XP Pro SP2 and
I was woundering when I set up my HD how and what is a recovery partition? I
have it in my PC that I use now!! Im assuming It would take me back to my
origional everything just like when i bought it? This is what i want to do
with my new PC so where at in the prosess of setting up Windows XP do I do
this and how? Thanks!!!

that is a 3rd party application, it is not included in Windows, I think Ghost
will make one.

When installing I'd leave some space for a second partition. 10GB is enough
usually, though you can make it larger to allow several backups. Create the
second partition under Disk Administrator once the system's installed.

You can then use Ghost or Drive Image to image your install to the second
partition. Use FAT32 so it will be acessible from a bootdisk.

If you don't want the second partition to be visible in Explorer, remove its
drive-letter. (It will stil be accessible from a bootdisk, this only affects
Windows.)

I have a 300GB HD. So what your saying is after install it will make a local
disc (C:) then after install of windows I go into disc administrator and
create a second partition that 10GB and call it local disc (D:) then i
purchase a program called Gost or drive image. What do you mean use Fat32
This is the first time i have even messed with formating or anything like
this? Thanks!!!
