I recently upgraded my OS from XP home to XP Professional.
Perhaps it's just my imagination, but it seems that my
applications now take longer to load, web pages take
longer to open and videos take longer to start. Has
anyone else experienced this slowdown? Is this normal?
Can anything be done to correct this? Thanks in advance.

If you switched to NTFS for the first time, be sure to defrag the drive, and
there may also be another factor that is slowing things a *little.*

I suggest, though, starting with the basics:

Computer health:

Rule out parasites:

http://aumha.org/win5/a/parasite.htm

General troubleshooting:

Go ahead and print the pages out, take notes on them as you go through them,
and let us know what you find. That will give us a good basis for moving
ahead.
