Hi,
What's a good partion size to install XP Pro into, for a standalone
computer?

Thanks

When performing a clean install, Microsoft recommends that NTFS be used
and that the system be installed in a single partition on each disk. Under
Windows XP, big partitions are better managed than in previous versions
of Windows. Forcing installed software into several partitions on the disk
necessitates longer seeks when running the system and software.

But what sizr partion is good for XP Pro? It initially takes up about 1.5
gigs, right? With updates etc. the partion should be 3, 4, ? gigs?

Bill;
Minimum of 4gb just for Windows XP and updates.
If you also want files applications etc, increase accordingly.

I have had good luck with 25 Gb. after about a year gets pretty bloated but
still stays around 20 Gb.
