I apologise if this has been asked before..

We are a small office running XP Home on 2 Networked computers and 98 on "the old PC". My concern is with the 2 XP boxes. We run Accpac for Windows version 5.1 and the response on the PC that does not hold the data is really slow. We've been told that XP Pro would solve the problem because it doesn't need to "authenticate" each time data is accessed. Before we spend money we would like to verify this claim. PC speed should not be am issue. The PC with the data is a P3 with 256MB ram and the other is a P4 with 1 GB of ram. Apropriate Accpac software and network license is installed. The problem does indeed seem to be network configuration

Thank you.

If you are running a small office then I strongly suggest you choose Pro
over Home, format NTFS. A lot more security options in Pro too.
