Hi

My hard drive experienced sector issues that NTFS could not resolve so some of the XP files were bad. I reinstalled Service pack one hoping to refresh them but that did not fix all.
So I ran setup from the CD and told it to do an upgrade instead of a new install.
During the phase where its installing drivers the PC blue screens and restarts insto setup. I would like to bypass setup and get back into my Windows but I cannot figure out how. I checked the boot.ini for line that is runing setup but did not find one.

Thanks

Will, I think want you want to do is a Repair or Parallel Install. Here's some info on how to do either one.

I would love to do that but I my CD drive is dead. I have a new one coming. I did this reinstall off my server.
I have tools that let me get access to the NTFS drive and modify files but that is about it.
I guess I will have to wait for the CD drive unless there is a way to stop the OS from going back into setup.

Thanks
