When I use Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit (Version 7.2x -

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

I am told that I have installed Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
(build 2600)

Below, under the heading "Installed Microsoft Hotfixes" subtopic
"Windows XP" I find the installed hotfixes grouped under subheadings
SP-1, SP0, SP10, SP3, and SP4. The SP3 group has 103 entries, the SP4
has 26.

Is this terminology unique to Belarc, or has MS started calling the
hotfixes KB950760 (6/12/2008) through KB958687 (1/19/2009) SP4?

Thanks,

baumgrenze

MS has been doing this for a very long time.
All hotfixes and patches issued since the availability of SP3 are not issued
for SP4.

There are multiple hotfixes included by each service pack. Each hotfix can
be called KB something.
