I am trying to setup a simple peer-to-peer network between
2 computers. Both are running WIN XP Pro. The desktop is
connected to a DSL modem, a 5 port Netwrok switch and an
HP officejet 4110. The laptop is connected to the 5 port
switch. I ran the network wizard on both systems and I can
see both computers on each system, but when I try to setup
a network printer, access shared files or attempt to use
the internet on the 2nd system . . . they all fail. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Run the Network Setup Wizard again on both computers.

On the desktop, tell it that "This computer connects directly to the
Internet. The other computers on my network connect to the Internet
through this computer."

On the laptop, tell it that "This computer connects to the Internet
through a residential gateway or through another computer on my
network."

The Wizard will make all the necessary settings, enabling ICS on the
desktop, sharing the printer, etc.
